In the second quarter of 2023, the top 5 news and magazines apps on the Android platform in Ghana showcased interesting trends. Here's a closer look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

Twitter Lite saw a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, starting with around 1.8K at the end of March and peaking at 3.1K by the end of June. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating slightly around the 3.6K mark.

Opera News: breaking & local experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 1.5K and reaching 1.8K by the end of June. However, weekly active users showed a decline from around 340K to 322K over the quarter.

Quora: the knowledge platform had a decrease in weekly downloads, from around 1.4K at the end of March to approximately 600 by the end of June. Similarly, weekly active users saw a decline from about 45.9K to 43K during the same period.

Wazam: Breaking news and Local showed a varied trend in weekly downloads, starting with 554 in mid-May and peaking at 2.1K in early June, before dropping to 289 by the end of June.
